Vladimir Aleksenko is a squadron commander and commander of the 15th Guards Ground Attack Aviation Regiment (the 227th Assault Air Division, the 1st Air Army, the 3rd Belorussian Front).

He was born on January 27, 1923 in Kievskoe village of the Crimean region of Krasnodar Territory in a peasant family. Russian. A member of the CPSU (B) / Communist Party since 1943. In 1940, he graduated from high school and flying club.

In the Red Army since May 1941. He graduated from the Krasnodar military pilots flying school in 1942.

On the fronts of the Great Patriotic War since February 1943. Stormed the enemy’s batteries, fired Leningrad, smashed the enemy on the Karelian Isthmus, in the Baltics and East Prussia.

The title of Hero of the Soviet Union and the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star Medal (№ 6129), squadron commander of the 15th Guards Ground Attack Aviation Regiment (the 227th Assault Air Division, the 1st Air Army, the 3rd Belorussian Front), Guard Captain Vladimir Aleksenko was awarded on April 19, 1945 for 230 successful military missions and the storm blows on the accumulations of the enemy troops and equipment, for valor and courage in combat missions.

The second Gold Star Medal (№ 8677), commander of the 15th Attack Aviation Regiment Guard Maj. Vladimir Aleksenko was awarded on June 29, 1945 for 292 sorties to attack the enemy fortifications and airfields and the destruction of the enemy personnel.

In total during the war, the brave pilot of attack aircraft, V.A. Aleksenko made 292 successful sorties. On his account dozens of destroyed planes, 33 tanks, 118 vehicles, 53 railway cars, 85 carts, 15 armored personnel carriers, 10 warehouses with ammunition, 27 guns, 54 anti-aircraft guns, 12 mortar rounds and hundreds of killed soldiers and officers.

After the war, the brave pilot continued service in the Soviet Air Force. In 1954 he graduated from the Air Force Academy. In 1962 – from General Staff Military Academy. Member of the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR in the 5th, 8th convocation. In 1978, Lieutenant General of Aviation, Aleksenko was retired. He lived in Odessa. Died on June 16, 1995.

He was awarded the Order of Lenin, four Orders of the Red Banner, the Order of Alexander Nevsky, two 1st Class Orders of the Patriotic War, the 2nd Class Order of the Patriotic War, two Orders of the Red Star and medals.

Hero bust was installed in his homeland.
